SOFTWARE DEVELOPER · AI BUILDER · 14× HACKATHON WINNER

I’m Soulemane. I learn by building things that have to work.

I’m a software developer from New York and a Computer Science student at Binghamton University. I’m curious about how intelligent systems understand information, make decisions, and move from an idea into something people can actually use.

Open to software engineering, AI, and full-stack internship opportunities.

ABOUT ME

Before the projects, here’s who I am.

I’m a New York developer, a Binghamton Computer Science student, a robotics programmer, and someone who uses ambitious projects to understand what I still need to learn.

New York City ↔ Binghamton

I’m a Computer Science student at Binghamton University and a software developer from New York. I learn fastest by taking on something unfamiliar, understanding how the pieces connect, and building until the idea becomes real.

That path has taken me through coding clubs, Columbia programs, FIRST Robotics, production engineering, and hackathon teams. Each environment has taught me something different about curiosity, leadership, teamwork, and staying calm when a difficult system is not working yet.

I’m most drawn to problems that cross boundaries: software that has to understand messy information, make a useful decision, communicate it clearly, and sometimes interact with the physical world.

I don’t want to stay in one technical lane. I like moving between interfaces, data, models, maps, and hardware until the whole system makes sense.

ROBOTICS / LEADERSHIP

Beyond the Browser

Software gets more interesting when it has to perceive a physical environment, control real hardware, and work reliably in the hands of a team.

FIRST Robotics Competition Team 4571 — Rambots

Programming Lead

Led and contributed to software development for an FRC competition robot, including swerve-drive control, autonomous navigation, vision alignment, sensor integration, debugging, and driver-assistance systems.

  • Built Java-based control systems for swerve-drive movement and autonomous routines.
  • Integrated AprilTag computer vision, Limelight cameras, gyroscope data, and closed-loop motor controllers for robot positioning and alignment.
  • Developed and debugged autonomous trajectories, telemetry, and robot-state visualization.
  • Helped lead programming work and communicate technical concepts to other students.

MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY

Learning how strong software gets made.

Each team has changed how I work. Professional experience has taught me to listen carefully, communicate tradeoffs, debug patiently, and care about the details that make software dependable for the person using it.

WHAT I’VE BUILT / 2024—NOW

The ideas I chose to make real.

These projects are snapshots of how I think: start with a problem I care about, learn what the system demands, and keep building until there is something concrete to test, use, and improve.

MORE PROJECTS

More questions I explored by building.

14× HACKATHON WINNER

Built under pressure. Proven in competition.

14×

Hackathons taught me to move from an unclear problem to a working product quickly—choosing the right scope, learning unfamiliar tools, collaborating under pressure, and presenting something people can actually use.

HOW I BUILD

A toolkit shaped by curiosity.

I’m still learning, but I’m comfortable moving across layers when a problem calls for it—from interfaces and application logic to structured data, model integrations, mapping, and robotics.
